What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and the outline you build stays in your browser. Nothing you type reaches Scribe Media unless you fill in the optional form.
Your outlines
The outline builder saves your work in your browser's local storage, on your own device, so you can close the page and come back to it. It is not sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it, and it will not appear on another device or browser.
Counting visits
To know whether the guide is useful, the site counts events such as "a page was viewed" or "the outline builder was used." Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in your browser's session storage and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
The optional form on this site sends your first name, email and optional phone number, along with the page you sent it from and any campaign tags, to Scribe Media, where they are stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses them to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. If you built an outline in the outline builder, a plain-text copy of it is sent with the form too, so the Scribe team can see your book plan without asking you to explain it again. If you would rather not share it, click Start over in the builder before you send the form. You can unsubscribe from Scribe's emails at any time.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
